Upcycle bits of trimming & other baubles into beautiful jewelry!
(video tutorial - part 2/2)

Materials:
String for beading (repurposed from other items of jewelry or sourced from thrift store craft aisles), such as:
sturdy thread like embroidery floss or beading thread
leather or satin cord
Ribbon or other decorative trimming (thrift store craft aisles can be a great resource, and this can be a great way to put leftover scraps of ribbon, eyelet, or other sewing trimmings to good use!)
A few pendants or brooches you like (either repurposed from old jewelry or sourced from thrift stores)
Beads (you will need large hole beads to accommodate wider stringing material like cord)
Findings:
Ribbon crimp ends
Cord ends
Jump rings
Clasps
Tools:
Needle-nose pliers
Round-nose pliers
Scissors
Needle & thread
Superglue
Our Note: You may be surprised at how many kinds of craft supplies you can find at your local thrift store! Many larger thrift stores like Goodwill have an entire aisle dedicated to art supplies. Before starting a new craft, we recommend checking out your local thrift stores to get inspired and buy as many used supplies as possible. There are also online secondhand craft supply stores (like here or here), and online resellers like eBay and Etsy also sell vintage and secondhand craft materials. We also love thinking outside the box when sourcing craft supplies: check out the costume jewelry section of thrift stores to see if there are any beads, charms, or brooches you might want to take apart and repurpose in a new way, or consider sewing notions like ribbons and trim as alternate jewelry-making materials.
